My only worry about GTA6 is that all the humour and violence will be sanded down to nothing, to suit the 'modern audiences' sensibilities.
Rockstar used to be able to push out a game and give an uncompromising middle finger to anyone who bitched about it, I'm not certain they've the bottle for that these days.
Hope I'm wrong though.

I just have common sense compared to most. I know exactly which videos are amateur journalists, and which ones make legitimate entertaining videos that don’t antagonize a viewer into joining a political cult. But I highly doubt they are just watching Left Wing propagandists videos, they are clicking on the Right-Wing ones too. Honestly when I went two days watching old wrestling videos, that’s all that was recommended for me. Nothing political at all. Today is mostly the same. I’ll watch clips from old Japanese gangster pictures, then I’ll get it for other old foreign pictures. I don’t subject myself to the bullshit, ever. It’s not worth it. Except, The Bore…

He has a point though, fan bases can now be big enough to sustain something without mainstream traction across generations.
Taylor Swift used to appeal to a bigger audience but is much bigger now that she specifically targets millenial and gen-z women and has almost 0 appeal to men.
Another thing that has changed is that there is so much content released at a fast pace it is hard to keep up.
With Game of Thrones many people didn't start watching until Season 2 and 3 based on word of mouth but they only had to catch up with 1 or 2 seasons.
I know quite a few people that wanted to get in on the Marvel craze but simply gave up because they didn't know where to start. Same with the Star Wars TV shows.
The same is true for games with all the seasonal content. By the time folks late to the party want to check out the cool event they heard about, the content drop is no longer available, players have moved on or something else has replaced it. And 'late to the party' is no longer a year later but 2 weeks tops.

I was bartending for upper middle class / lower upper class stay at home moms at that time and had absorbed and forgotten more than I care to admit about that string of shows.
I dont really watch TV or movies so I’m not sure what’s going on these days, but I will say I hear a lot less TV talk out in the world / at work (still bartending) and definitely don’t hear about the same three shows all the time and I’m quite ok with that.
