tbh I’m not clear on the distinction of block vs mute on Twitter. My understanding is mute prevents you from seeing users and topics. Block prevents other users from seeing your posts. With that understanding, losing block doesn’t seem to matter? If you’re that concerned about others reading your posts, there’s the option to go private where only those you follow can see it. 

Only lurk twitter and never need to block. I have a number of accounts and topics muted and don’t see them. Now, ideally Elon would allow mass muting of accounts with emojis. There has never been a single good post from a user with a… I’m not going to say what emoji what flag what people.

Block was a thing before Mute and Twitter's always been screwy I swear muted accounts still got retweeted into your timeline at some point which was annoying while that never happened when you blocked.

The people clutching their pearls and going "think of the safety" about getting rid of block are dumb. Your posts are public, all it takes is a burner account or incognito window to see what you're saying.

I think the real reason Elon wants to scrap blocks is he's probably the most blocked dude on the website because his posts are annoying.

My favorites are when he steals content instead of just quote tweeting the actual account. Like I remember doing this being a big Twitter deal like a decade ago and everyone got shamed into it. I'm not going to ban it or anything but I think people should try to resize the images like Gameboy Nostalgia did here or else embed his bluesky posts. (The bluesky embed is larger than the Twitter one but it also seems to be faster, so tradeoffs...) The giant screenshots, especially of his Ko-Fi, are not my favorite (but also the ones of his "skeets" don't need to be that size either) but I'm too lazy to always edit them to be smaller.

I understand the screenshot thing is a problem on mobile because people won't know what size they actually are and I don't exactly want to encourage calling out large image posters so they know who they are so it becomes a ResetERA.com mob like "community policing" thing, but I suppose I could start trying to let those posters know who they are.

This isn't a comment on the content of these posts, merely the method people are posting them. Nor am I claiming to be immune, which is why I try to use spoilers when embedding a bunch of tweets. (Though that came about more because of the OG's struggles loading them. )

Yeah, I too must admit that I'm not a fan on all the constant Melody posting.

Honestly Melody isn't even a user that I hate. Of course they're a creepy weird lolicon, an attention seeking suicide baiter, jobless beggar, and their trans identity seems more  like an excuse to be a gooner pervert (since they wouldn't get shamed as much if they still identified as male), and to potentially creep around women's spaces. 

But in the end, there are so many other Ree users who are much more malicious, arrogant, sanctimonious, smug, hostile, and better spoken than Melody could ever be. Melody is mostly just a pity party who beats themselves up regularly, and it's simply not as interesting nor satisfying as seeing one of the regularly smug militant assholes, like Eden, posting a personal screed that incriminates them on how pathetically creepy they are.

A quick solution I have, aside from shrinking the image links, is to simply spoiler the Melody posting, so it's only viewable for those interested in seeing it. Everyone wins.

They use their pathetic situation to farm sympathy and make excuses as to why their life isn't going the way they allegedly want. Pathetic but harmless. Benji, my experience on this forum is genuinely better by having Nintex blocked by default. I don’t need to see twitter embeds on my phone of them last Trump forced meme, if Nintex actually saids something actually worthwhile I can digest it and give him a like.

how will you know if he actually said something worthwhile if he's blocked? do you click to unblock individual posts constantly just to see if they're worthwhile? what a lot of labor that nintex is imposing on you, when you could just not click anything and scroll past
