Okay I realize this is like the 4th-5th thread I've written about love in some form, I'm sorry (not sorry) and hope I haven't been bothering the mods for spamming ERA but I can't get it out of my head so I'm just going to write this.

I've written elsewhere I've been suffering from a depression spell, thankfully it's been easing up the past day and I've found that reading, watching, playing and look at wholesome wlw romance works has been incredibly helpful. Partly because it's help me realize how much I deeply want to be in a relationship with an amazing women but can't for many factors (fuck transphobia) so it's been helping fill a massive hole and also because just seeing other women happy helps me feel happy which has also been helping. I realize that may not make much sense to most here, but eh.

So yeah, October has been a month of romance for me and had actually forgot about Halloween (admittedly not helped by the fact I've barely seen anything Halloween related this year, like my local stores has a crap ton of Christmas stuff in comparison to Halloween stuff), which knowing how my brain works means it's always going to have that association to it. Fuck Valentine's Day, Halloween is the time of love... Except Vampires, stay away from me (don't find Vampires sexy and don't like my neck being touched).

With Govee smart lights, there's a feature called Dreamview that lets you positionally 3D map the lights in your house to seamlessly blend the colors on-screen into your home environment. I installed LED strips that line the edges of my room and positionally mapped them to Govee.

Same with Hue Sync, which is what my overhead can lights are. I have 8 overhead can lights in my living room, so all 8 are positionally mapped to lighting on-screen. So if a beam of light like a flashlight passes across the screen, a real beam of light showers my physical room in the same position. I have the latest boxes from both of them (which let you sync this way using HDMI sources) but on PC you can also use the free Hue Sync and Govee desktop PC apps to sync with even better accuracy and blending than the sync boxes, and at uncapped FPS (Hue's new 8K sync box taps out at 4K 120 Hz, can't go to 4K 144 Hz with light syncing).

I'm having an authentic first-time experience. I've spent maybe 20 hours just going between rooms, examining all the physics and lighting and textures in great detail, absorbing the atmosphere, solving the clues, and piecing together how these apartments work. It's just oozing in the kind of gameplay and organic level design (reminds me of a Souls game) that is EXTREMELY rare in old games let alone in modern games. It's my favorite type of game design and I'm loving it here. I had no idea so many of my favorite games were inspired by this classic, and now I can see why.

This remake takes all the best of modern gaming's accessibility advances and retrofits them into a challenging, extremely moody experience and I'm all here for it.

This reminds me of me! I'm super immersed and I'd be streaming/recording if it wasn't for the fact that:
- Nvidia Overlay can't seem to record the game and audio while keeping Dolby Atmos/DTS:X enabled. No sound records when I try!
- Mrillis Action!'s recording software is kinda buggy with this game. The game wants to crash when it loads with this enabled.
- Steam game recording doesn't work properly on 60 FPS right now and it's the weekend so there's no Steam client update fixing it yet.

Gotta wait I suppose. Maybe by the time I get out of these apartments, I can start recording lol
