Angie is one of the most annoying fucks on that forum. All he does is post rumors that pretty much all end up being false. I know English is a second language for them but again, I know people who have it as a third language and are more articulate. Shit pisses me off especially with the amount of posts they have.

I played this all the way back in 2013, before it was out on Steam. These were my thoughts from then, which I still hold to, today. Since that time, I have become a qualified integrative therapist, so I did achieve my career goals! Anyway, here are my thoughts from back then.

One of the most profound and important videogames I've ever played. It's a game that deals with depression in the most honest and respectful manner. Zoe Quinn and Patrick Lindsey have done it, a game that successfully conveys what depression is like through a text adventure. The creators should be rejoicing, as clearly it has had a positive impact on people enough to share their experiences and how this game got them to understand what they're going through. Whether or not you're depressed at some point in your life, you'll relate to the ills of procrastination as you're right now spending time on an internet messageboard and not sleeping. Videogames have this power of embodying other people, of being empathic. Even though it's just a text adventure game, certain choices of action being greyed out is a good corollary to when your mind just can't make your body carry out the most obvious and healthy course of action.

Playing this game made me aware I had been depressed the whole time since Sept 2012 to 2013, which explained why I was missing out on lectures, assignments, and just being burned out on my previous course that the stress and suicidal thoughts weren't worth it. I didn't realise I was depressed the whole time until I played this game, and I had studied psychology before! I was doing a medicine degree in Czech Republic and had been missing classes, not find motivation to do anything, and just having an existential crisis along with suicidal thoughts throughout the third year. I found it to be too much, and frustrating. After playing this game, it woke me up out of the depression hibernation. I even sent a thank you email to the creator, Zoe Quinn. Called my parents and they agreed that I pull out of the degree. I wanted to switch over to psychology because that was the subject I was most passionate about and had the best grades at in A levels. So came back to UK, applied to universities for psychology degrees. Got into a university to do psychology masters, it was awesome! For my dissertation, conducted an actual experimental study about eye movement and schizotypy with an eye tracking machine and cognitive tests. Got commendation, and now working in the mental health sector. So yeah, the videogame made me realise to focus my efforts on what I'm best at rather than suffer (and possibly harm myself) just for better money. Don't feel like spending a disproportionate amount of time escaping into watching movies/internet surfing/playing games anymore.
