I got banned for criticizing the media, particularly on its handling of the genocide and got thread banned for a bit and reinstated without any word after people complained. At the beginning of the genocide, anything critical of Israel was seen as antisemitism. Palestinian posters banned and folks vocal about Palestine are micro managed and tone policed. Meanwhile the Progressive except Palestine folks can say the most disrespectful demeaning shit to you and you just gotta take it.

100%. I think the biggest misconception about Era is that it's a progressive place. It isn't, it's a liberal space with everything that entails it.

I think with time the moderation got a lot better, at least as far as this thread goes, but we still lost a lot of valuable posters, including those of Palestinian descent.

So my brother is beyond addicted to gambling! (sports betting) he has been lying to my parents for years on getting a job(he is 29) still lives at home, just lies upon lies.. did a title loan on his car 3 different times, my dad keeps bailing him out and it's making me angry! like why are you spending $3,500 on an old mercedes with 200,000 miles on it when it's not even worth the price of the car anymore, and he didn't listen the first 2 times doing it. he apparently stole $4,000 from his ex business card when she was pregnant with his kid. his ex yesterday told me my dad has lent him around $30,000-$50,000 in the last 3 years but it was for stuff like gas money, food, etc

he is just out of control! we all went to vegas for sammy Hagar concert back in august, he bailed out last minute and had to walk back from the venue to the hotel like 10 minutes away because of "anxiety" but that definitely was just an excuse to be back in the hotel room to sports bet on his phone. the rest of the trip he would hang out with us for like 45 minutes and then say he doesn't feel good again.

he legit sits inside all fucking day and looks at his phone to sports bet, I shit you not. no TV, no background noise just staring at phone. he thinks he can't get a job because of the "anxiety" issue so just lies and says he has one. I really wanna be like yeah you getting brain rot daily because you deadass don't do a single thing in a day.

my parents are so done trying to help him, they signed him up for therapy but have a feeling he lying about even going, and my parents think he needs therapy for panic attacks and the anxiety like NO he needs to talk to a specialist about gambling is the issue. My dad has a huge heart and is trying to help but its not working well. I also have been telling my dad to stop babying him, he will absolutely never learn his lesson. my dad has bought him a newer car(2018) since he has a baby now part time but I have a feeling he will just be dumb and pawn it off again. not sure why they didn't just put a down payment on the car and let him learn.
