I'm singling you out not personally but because I did want to say something regarding this idea in general in my capacity as admin careposter-in-chief. 

Slurs are intellectual weakness. They're a crutch for people who cannot articulate their thoughts in a truly understandable way. Before I expand on this thought, just look at how ResetERA.com talks about whites or men or chuds or fascists. But also think about how Nepenthe would respond to you calling her the gamer word, she'd love that, that's what she wants you to do. But going at her delusional persona, either with a scalpel or a hatchet, without any bigotry is not just what she fears, it's pretty much her central paranoia about life itself. People wanting to make art easier aren't just doing that, no, they're declaring war on her personally. Sure she doesn't produce any commercial art in the first place but that's just proof of how successful their war on her is. Same with "whites" and "capitalists" it all comes back to Nepenthe's central place in the universe and everyone else's jealousy and anger at her for her divine importance. Slurs, and bigotry in general, play into that story she tells herself. Holding her accountable for her actions with a mirror or reality or whatever while not drifting into signs of hatred is the real dagger in the ribs. Repeat across that entire forum. It's why this place is comparatively verboten while Kiwi Farms is a useful boogie-man and constant enemy on the horizon. 

So while I may not ban or filter (more) slurs, nor the people who get around the existing filters or use terms that maybe could be filtered, I do look down at it. And tut-tut at how uncouth you garbage deplorables are. Be better, savage their delusional personalities not their meaningless demographic characteristics. Oh, and end genocide (of progressive gaming studios).

I've gotten a couple comments on the other place that "game journalists are all woke and you know it" and I think the phenomenon they are actually observing is just that people with hard-right views are generally unpleasant to be around so of course normal people don't want to work with them.

As someone who has no knowledge about larger scale "team writing" like large RPG's, but is there usually a person who makes sure that all written content is in sync with tone and style project is going for? It's something lead writer is responsible for?

With dialogue scenes shown as examples of "bad writing" they were... tonally weird. Rook talked to their companions like companions were 4 years old, and didn't know how to share toys. There also was one weird logic continuation error in characters beliefs. This contrasts pretty hard against those few posts in OT saying writing reminds them ME 2 etc.

I've definitely spoken to some adults like they are 4 years old. That's just a thing that can happen. Idk the context for any of this but that description alone is hardly an example of bad writing.

I haven't got far enough through this thread to see that you've definitely been quoted a bunch of times, but its because you're saying something worth discussing and not because there's a wrongthink pile on - most of this threads long term regulars are open to having their preconceptions challenged and being able to stand by their statements when challenged because we mostly believe what we say and will justify it, or change our opinions if the alternative is a more compelling argument.

With that said; you can argue against the value of heteronormativity all you want, but the difference between 'woke media' (for lack of a better term - call it DEI / Sweet Baby Inc Detected / GamerGate / whatever - it is something the general mostly apolitical public have noticed and generally dislike) is there were very few if any games in The Bad Old Days that explicitly took the tone of "Imma gon fuck some bitches cuz I am SUPER STRAIGHT and if you HOMOS don't like it then you can FUCK OFF", and if a publisher was pulling some astroturfing shenangians the Press generally didn't run cover for them with a "Its all you PINKO COMMIES that are RUINING GAMING".
You also generally didn't hold up posters talking about how bangable a videogame character is as something wholesome because they added WLW into every sentence - they were just creepy fucking weirdos.

Regarding the metacommentary about Melody, I think it's worth remembering that he came to our attention because he scammed the forum using the same methods.
