It could be ultimate porn viewing device with the hand gestures, infinite 8k screen estate and spatial sound but Apple doesn't accept porn apps in their store.
If they had showed Pornhubs vision instead of Disneys vision for this thing, they would've sold out already. Trumps

I just read that there's no pictures of Tim Cook or any other Apple execs actually wearing the thing probably to prevent people from making memes about them.  lol

I'm pretty sure Google is going to shutdown or sell off the entire workspace thing in the near future.
As a reseller I'm already handing control over the accounts and billing back to the users themselves.

I don't see where they can go with these smart devices. I didn't buy the flagship Galaxy last time because the improvements over the non-flagship were minor.
Last week I got a new tablet for my dad (Samsung Tab A8), it cost $200 and runs everything you want on a tablet fast (media playback, browsing etc.). It feels sturdy, the battery lasts a while, it charges quickly and the screen is great too.

The cameras are a bit crappy but that's hardly a problem with a tablet. Sufficient for Skype in any case.

I've been exclusively mid-range phones now for many years. Flagship phones are stupid and you need to replace them just as frequently as a mid-range phone. The few benefits you get from a flagship are minimal at best and mostly superficial.

Anyone not trapped in an idiot bubble in silicon valley predicted this.

The idea is great in a cyberpunk story, but until this shit is made seamless with implants and no dumbarse headsets, it's a dead duck.

Ok text bros, is there any reason why I shouldn't but this laptop for my daughter?

Use case: school homework, light internet browsing, no games, no Photoshop, some very light video editing.

Quote:MSI Modern 14 C12M-215AU 14" i5 Notebook Win 11

CPU: Intel Core I5-1235U || 10 Cores (12MB Cache, up to 4.4 GHz)
Screen Size: 14" FHD (1920 x 1080), IPS Level
GPU: Iris Xe Graphics
RAM Size: 16GB DDR4 RAM (3200MHz)
SSD: 512GB NVMe PCIe
Ethernet Port: No LAN Port
Wireless Connectivity: Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) + Bluetooth 5.1
Display Outputs: 1 x HDMI
USB: 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A || 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C || 2 x USB 2.0
Audio Outputs: 1 x 3.5mm Combo Audio Jack
Other: No Optical Drive
Operating System: Windows 11 Home

Price is good. It's in stock. Retailer is excellent with returns and warranty. 14" is probably the best screen size for her desk and portability.

Considerations:
  • Is it going to last at least a few years technology-wise?
  • Is the brand reasonably reputable?
  • Should I consider Ryzen rather than Intel?

Not sure about the GPU for gaming otherwise fine.
I would also look for 1TB storage because not all of these have replaceable SSD's. What does it cost?

Not going to be used for gaming so no concern with GPU.

Storage won't be an issue.

Cost is AU$899, but my brother is going to run it through his business which will reduce it to almost half that.

other than the Windows 11 part

run ShutUp10++, turn on green recommended options or read through them in detail and turn on even more

Yeah, seems like a decent buy.

I like my 2 Ryzens but Intel is more stable. Don't let the AMD fanbois tell you otherwise.

Stopped being lazy and finished setting up my new desktop PC I built in April. So really sitting down and using Windows 11.

Actually, first thing I’ll say is I’m an idiot for waiting so long. Who knew going from a decade old CPU and assorted parts to sometimes new would be faster. I can open more than seven tabs without my computer yelling no mas.

Anyway, Windows 11 is 99% fine after some easy fixes. That one percent actively making it annoying to use is the lack of an option to ungroup taskbar items. It’s the most “why?” decision I’ve encountered in an OS since probably pre w7.

The thing I dislike the most about W11 is the new right click prompts, where they hide a bunch of items under another click and some things are there but now displayed as poorly designed icons instead of words, such as 'rename'.

New systems are definitely faster, even though on paper the Ghz or core difference might be small, you'll see a big uplift in day to day use.
In that sense I think Intel and AMD have actually hurt their own sales by keeping everything the same name with a bunch of numbers no one understands.

The i7 9600k doesn't sound much different from the i7 12600k so why upgrade?

Lol, YouTubers accusing each other of "not following journalistic practices" while not following journalistic practices. Name a more iconic duo. I'll wait.

The right click context menu is an simple registry fix. They really should’ve made it an easily accessible option.

As I understand it, they’re trying make it more like Macs? The taskbar defaults to the center like on Macs.

The reason I own a PC is that I don't want to use a Mac. Stop trying to make it like a Mac. Fucking Microsoft wankers.
