Margaret Thatcher once said "There is no society, there are only families" and that's unfortunately how most of conservatives think.

Another way of saying "fuck you got mine" but it's more subtle than that for a lot of them that are those "for the economy" types, it's "the most important thing is my family and whoever does something that makes the lives better of my family is who I will vote for" with little regard for society or long term thinking of what benefits society will eventually benefit you.

It's one of the reasons I'm tempted once me and my wife have a kid that we move to one of the Asian countries like Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore - because even though they have a huge list of issues, they are not as hyper individualistic and there is a bit more of a conformity and adhesion to the better for society (either via law or via culture norms).

I would also be up for the Nordic countries but I live big & dense city living.

Now if everything goes bad down south and it changes Canadians perspectives and the far right goes from the 25%~ (+the 20-30% that are the "for the economy" voters) it is right now to the 10-20% it should be, I'll change my opinion.

EDIT - or another way of saying it, Americans needed to listen to Spock in the Star Trek movie where he dies and says "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one". They've mainly lost that over the last couple of decades.

Like pretty much everyone here, what happened Tuesday evening hurt me and hurt me bad. The next 2-4 years are going to absolutely suck, and they will have consequences that are felt by generations to come...if there even are generations to come.

I tend to be a rather introspective person, and the last couple of days of not eating and going to bed at 8pm and still getting maybe 5 hours of sleep have led me to realize something. I got dealt a pretty shitty hand when it comes to life. I'm 41, born in 1983. My first week of college, on my own, ready to experience the world...9/11 happens. I get out of college, ready to move out of my parents' house and apply my skills, and there's a global recession making me unable to find a well-paying job for years. I bring a child into this world and want to do all these amazing things with them, and there's a global pandemic that keeps us stuck in our house.

Just a whole bunch of terrible shit, none of which is my fault, and yet, probably set me back years when it comes to experiencing the world.

So honestly, part of my reaction from this past Tuesday is more or less being resigned to that fact. Nothing is ever going to go my way. Ever. I'll have fun moments, getting married, bringing two kids into this world, sure, but I'll never be able to truly appreciate them because of all the bullshit that constantly faces me.

So yeah, I appreciate everyone who is going to step up and fight. Really, I do. And to be clear, this is NOT me saying I'm going to hurt myself or do anything that could cause myself harm. But I'm going to be honest, right now I just want to be Tony Stark in Avengers Endgame after the Snap. Go live in the woods with my wife and my kids and just ignore everything going on around me except for what affects me directly. I know many of you think of me as weak and selfish for doing so, and I don't blame you. I honestly feel ashamed of myself. I'm fully aware that all it takes for evil to flourish is for good people to do nothing. But good people ARE doing things, and evil is STILL flourishing. Arguably it's now stronger than ever.

So really, I'm just done. Done being hurt, done being disappointed. Just done.

(I should conclude this by saying yes, I do see a therapist and am on medication...at least until RFK Jr. makes it illegal and I have to treat myself with bleach or some shit)

So I started uploading videos of my gameplay about a year ago since I have like a crazy 4090/i9 13900 KF PC that can do high-end stuff.
But last night I decided to record some live commentated gameplay of myself playing Silent Hill 2 Remake with all the latest VR gesture/melee mods.
I watched it again later with my friend and I was surprised, after getting used to the sound of my own voice on microphone, I thought recording this honest live walkthrough of a genuinely creepy game was genuinely enjoyable and funny at times lol.
I have NEVER uploaded my own voice or commentary before now but now you get a rare glimpse into my madness lmao.

If you enjoyed watching this (or if you didn't), do you think I should do more of these or nah? I honestly don't mind the feedback. How could I know if I don't ask, I guess? But I recorded it out of boredom and then it kinda came out cute for something I recorded in one take without any editing, so I wanted to share with the community.
