I can play the same game. How many correctional officers were killed randomly by inmates in the last 10 years? Probably more than healthcare CEOs.

I've seen zero people feel sorry or outraged by those officers deaths. I guess you guys just don't care about us and think it's cool that we die more than CEOs. Awesome.

That's kind of what I'm trying to say. At first I thought Benji was arguing for the sake of arguing. I didn't think people actually didn't understand why nobody gives a shit that this guy got clipped. 

For the record, he probably was a decent guy and didn't deserve to be killed. He might have had a lovely family and great kids and everything else. But I'd probably be more sad if it was some single mom that was randomly killed and it left her kids without a parent. Is that difficult to understand?

Not saying they don't make too much, but the gap growing to this level is in large part due to their remuneration package including shares and options, and everyone and their dog starting to invest in the stock market in the 90s, and even moreso in the 2000s and the 2010s, leading to absurd share prices, especially for the "top 350 companies". The gap is probably way smaller for a non-public company.
You can see the gap shrink super fast every time the stock market has a big drop (tech bubble bursting; great recession; there would be another just after the graph finish because of Covid, and then a big upswing again).

Also it's the average, not the median. Would be interesting to see how it looks if you remove the few "trillion dollars companies".
