A Marvel movie does well. And you're arguing…it is a non factor for whether there's Marvel fatgiue? Maybe you can explain that again cause it makes no sense.

It's just common sense. As many, many people have pointed out before, it's a unique, already established rated R franchise that plays nothing like the typical Marvel flick. You could say it deserves credit for whatever extra it brings in over the second one thanks to Wolverine / X-men, which could easily be a huge 300-400 million extra, but in general Deadpool is its own thing and isn't gonna be an indicator of superhero fatigue.

Again, an already established franchise rated R flick like this with a totally different tone than typical Marvel affair, which is what people refer to when talking about fatigue, ain't gonna have any bearing on how well Captain America and Thunderbolts do.

Common sense to me is…Marvel fatigue is represented by Marvel movies. I don't care that you want to exclude it, your reasons while true about the film…do not justify pretending like this movie isn't a fucking MCU superhero movie.

Actually, the MCU, like Star Wars, has been consistently excellent so never has needed any saving but fascists think quality is more important then diversity and the staff allows them to run wild on a "progressive" forum. This even includes chud-like tactics like boycotts, divestment and sanctions rather than supporting these efforts, not to mention using algorithms to spread disinformation like how the major success of Deadpool 3 is somehow not related to other successes like The Marvels. Perfect example of how white liberals will throw marginalized people under the bus rather than take any steps to end capitalism, colonialism and white supremacy.

Deadpool is John Wick for nerds. People want to see people kill other people in entertaining ways. The MCU was strong when it was narratively cohesive. As of now, it is demonstrably not. Joe the Plumber isn't going to go see DP because he moves the needle on the "story". He's going to plunk his 20 bucks down to watch Deadpool kill people and crack wise for 90 minutes. Wolverine (the other guy that kills people) is just icing on the cake.

I'm not watching the film mainly because of the Footage Supplied By credit given to Andy Ngo and Tayler Hansen (even if they weren't paid, which they probably were, the credit, promotion and legitimisation of them is bad enough. People have said it's just generic footage, but that makes it worse as then Garland could have got it anywhere; why from the worst people around then?). Also, the interviews from Garland seriously turned me off with his ignorance and moral cowardice. So, unfortunately, I can't really discuss the film despite following the entire discussion; but I did want to share something no one has mentioned.

The film is supposedly about war photojournalists and according to Garland, a positive representation; so I was interested in what actual war photojournalists thought. One wrote an Opinion article in the Washington Post that is very interesting and not at all complimentary.

My favourite ERA pasttime is shouting to the hills on how I'm not consuming ProblematicTM media while parroting online articles about said media, which I would have no idea to qualify whether they're remotely on the mark or not.
