I remember this. Poor animal had a mostly empty cage. No wood chips on the floor, bright light above it. Only a very small plastic shelter to sleep in at the bottom right and food/water all the way at the top left. He basically built a Gitmo for guinea pigs.

And when people gave tips he obviously ignored them and instead started feeding it medicine.

Didn't he get another one after he killed the first one? Or just make a thread about how he wanted to get another one to kill?

No I was wrong. It was a hedgehog. IIRC the thread hinted that he had a history of neglecting animals to death.

Gears and Halo suffer the same error of having all the most interesting parts in the lore outside the games. And that they cannot move on from the OG enemy faction. But I think Gears has been the one that suffered getting on the spotlight again.

All the Halo games are about Master Chief and Cortana because Microsoft is scared of Gamergate 2.0.

Gears wants to both be cool and edgy and gnarly but also fast and the furious melodrama and it just comes off as a bit naff nowadays

Just one of the many contradictions of the Xbox brand that tries to appeal to everyone and thus appeals to no one.

Gears of War was literally: "Here's some cool shit we made in Unreal after playing Resident Evil 4 and Half Life 2"

By Gears 5 reviewers said it had "grown up" because of the more 'mature' themes, 'deeper' story lines, anti-war messages, trauma, loss and moments to contemplate your actions.
While I didn't think Gears 5 was that bad, I liked the simplicity and relentless pacing of this more:

Gears 2 especially was a rollercoaster ride, probably the best game in the series.

All the story beats were there simply to fuel your rage boner so the brehs had reasons to blow these freaks to bits without remorse in a blood soaked tour of vengeance.

I only could play 1, I never got the hype, I just thought that what people really liked was the multiplayer. Halo 1 was similar but was fun as hell to play and the music tricked the dumbass young me in thinking it was the most epic shit in history of storytelling. And I think Halo 2 has legit great moments and lines… wasted in a “to be continue” game, so I didn’t play 3.

Ironic, because most symptoms of autism - inability to read social cues, difficulties processing emotions, tendencies towards obsessive behaviours like collections as hobbies, dislike of disruptions to routines, tendencies towards isolation rather than socialising, preferences dealing with objects than people, etc - at some point on the spectrum blend into 'just regular guy behaviour'

It’s almost like he himself is actually the brother.

That's the entire point.  He takes things like careers, incidents, schooling, that happened to other people and confabulates them with his own life.  Or vice versa in the "punched an hole though," narrative.  He's the rage machine and now another person is.  His brother is.

Maybe he attacked another kid who had to stab him off with a pencil.  "A crazy kid attacked me in school"
He went to an open mike night and saw a performer who got moderately big and now Smasher went to comedy school.
He actually found a juicy scoop and gave it to a gaming journalist and that person found a story.  Now he's a gaming journalist.

A fabulist

Edit: Era is now full of these weirdos who have a single perspective that must be respected and never contradicted. I did a search, "What ever happened to the web site WWTDD (What would tyler durden do?)" and a top link was NeoGaf asking the same question in 2012.

It was at one time a useful place with diversity and opinions and thought.  Now it's populated by people who must have their ideas agreed with or else you are the enemy.

I guess that's what it is and it's now just a joke to prod for the rest of the internet.  What a shame because I would love to know why celeb gossip and nude pic sites are gone.  I have my theories.  Now celebs just post their own sexy pics on instagram.
