God. Honestly, in my experience, most pilots are some of the worst episodes of their respective shows' runs and I struggle to think of many examples where they're even one of the better episodes of their debut season, much less a 10/10 episode overall. Like the Venture Bros. pilot is AWFUL and it genuinely blows my mind the show exists at all in the face of that episode.

World history is asking a bit much when she doesn't even have one about American history. The leap from learning the history of your own country to that of others is already large enough.

Britain might have been all over the world because of their seafaring capabilities, but in terms of cultures/landmass colonised, the Ottomon Empire colonised just as much in their vicinity, all along North Africa, Southern Europe, and Middle-east.

Also, no one will talk about the fact that Muslim sultunates etc would enslaved Africans and brought them to be sold on slave markets but also to use them in North Africa. Most slaves Europeans got came from the Islamic slave trade. No one ever talks about the massive role the Islamic world had on history of slavery, it’s always painted as one sided as white Europeans. Also the South East Asia slave trade was massive. The arab/muslim world has practically the same level of colonialism and slavery as Europe had. But colonialism and slavery is only presented as European especially by people like NepNep

My favorite not-so-recent example of this is Harley Quinn from the 2016 Suicide Squad movie. Because in the years since, you’ve had multiple alternative conservative pants suits looks. What those guys kept saying women want. But still, you see women going around in booty shorts, stockings, high heels, a ripped shirt, etc. whenever it’s time to dress up as the character. Literally saw several this past Halloween.

Rather than divesting, challenging and overthrowing the system of exploitation Valve and Gabe continue to operate within and profit from them. Unlike Disney, Blizzard or MOBA Network he doesn't even use Steam to further resistance through empowerment of the marginalized. Every Steam sale perpetuates the original theft of wealth from the Global South continuing the cycle of capitalism, colonialism and white supremacy that has literally brought the entire literally burning planet literally to its literal knees.

If you don't want to be thought of as a class traitor, especially when the time for peaceful liberation comes, you probably don't want to be out here tone policing how the oppressed respond to their oppression. If the people of the Caliphates and Ottoman Empire or anywhere else in the Global South felt they needed to do those things to ensure they weren't subsumed under European colonialism again that's not on any of us to judge them or deny them justified community self-defense against the exploiter class designed by Yakub to steal everyone else's natural birthright wealth and culture.

Imagine if instead of villifying the game from the jump, disparaging the devs and threatening to dox anyone who dared stream the hypest release in a beloved series, that they simply co-opted the hype and used the opportunity to spread awareness? 

Trans developers worked on the game and indeed it features a trans npc and even provides options to create your own trans player character; there was essentially a license to print both goodwill and charitable donations but the low-hanging fruit of repeatedly screaming TERF!!! was too intoxicating I suppose.

I wonder...If JKR suddenly passed away how long would they gravedance? It really seems like she's more valuable as a figurehead for the resetera jihadis to rail against than she is one for actual transphobes to rally behind.

The best part is that Muslims are pretty much 'colonizing' European cities but the locals shouldn't complain about that and just accept the prayer calls, kebab joints, neighbourhood Sharia watch and the occasional Hamas rally or beheading. Not to mention the Arabs still have slaves and class systems in places like Dubai and the UAE.

It'll get cooked as hard as 7 Remake did, which is "not at all" really. It's not going to convert a lot of new people into FF fans but it's not going to get roasted like Starfield these days

FF7r has a really good battle planner on it with solid combat fundamentals even if underutilized. The core gameplay works well. The sidequests are really good. The game isn't hilariously sexist. You didn't have the lead explaining his "no blacks allowed" stance in a miniature essay prerelease.

I really don't see things working out for this game long term, critically, unless it gets major overhauls in DLC which... given the current DLC that just dropped, I don't see happening.

FF16 has a really weird hate campaign against it. Going by that post you'd think the game was outrageously sexist or something but it's overall... pretty fine? Like I would have preferred if Jill got to do more cool stuff, that's kind of a trapping of JRPGs/Anime where they want the hero to shine by protecting the girl, but you got tons of positive depictions of women who are all active in resisting the evil empire.

Also, it feels so weird that Crimson Viper just kind of vanished after SF4, hell even Super and Ultra 4 kind of forgot her. While she's not a personal fav of mine, I wouldn't mind to see her playable again (though given recent official drawings of her, I cringe at how they'll make her boob window bigger).

Also now that we've all the official renders have came out, what are people's overall opinions on the costume designs for the women in Tekken 8?
For me:
Alisa: Love her new costume (though it helps it's primarily my favourite)
Asuka: I don't know why but I'm not that fond of it but I can't think really I don't like it.
Azucena: Like it and I don't care what people tell me, I'm taking the rainbow necklace to mean she's LGBTQ+!!!
Jun: Love her new costumes
Lili: It's okay but I think her previous costumes looked better.
Panda: A bit too much kibble on her but otherwise fine.
Nina: Still not a fan really, I don't think the Biker + Dress combo really works.

When I was working for the Feds, I came up with a job title called "No, that's stupid." That was it. I would just listen to a very obviously dumb idea and say it was stupid. These CEOs, huffing their own farts, need to hear how fucking stupid some of their ideas are. That's where I come in.
