It's even weirder. Libs of tiktok only posted about the teacher after the teacher had already been fired by the school so I'm not quite sure why the school would then face harassment? And the teenager was killed by three female students, not by people who only appeared because of the libs of tiktok post. 
I don't really get it. It's a really fucked situation that a teenager was killed. That alone is a story about transphobia they could highlight. Trying to put the blame on that account feels kind of opportunistic and muddies the concern

I think that's generally a problem they have. Their idea of a good female character is a character that encapsulates all the old male tropes of cool, stoic, never shows feelings etc. and their idea of a good movie for women is a typically male targeted movie that just happens to star women. Meanwhile Barbie showed that women will storm your theater to just have a fun, well directed, girly movie with deeper message that feels genuinely targeted at them. 
Not to say that this applies to all women, I'm sure there's plenty who love action comic movies but overall the fan demographic simply leans male

and like kaleidoscopium said, if you follow every link on this subject the student is always referred to by a different name, and by she/her, which I suppose they'll say that's her family not respecting her wishes and being transphobic, but where does "nex" even come from? how does anyone know to call this student that? these same sites say the student had zero social media presence so it's not like she was on twitter saying "um my name is nex now, call me they/them"

all I can figure is that it'd be psychopathic to make that up out of nowhere, but there are literally no sources for this
