I don’t really have first hand experience with therapy (it shows) but my understanding about the key lesson is you can’t change how others act. Only how you react and respond to circumstances. Even media and whatever about gays is about the character learning to accept themselves, right?

Yeah, because kids are kids and have developing minds. They're not prepared to be aware of, much less want to willingly fight against, the effects on attention spans that ALL social media- not just TikTok- but ALL social media was deliberately engineered to possess. This is not solved by banning a single platform. It is solved by heavy regulation of our Internet landscape, but methinks that some of the regulation that might actually be necessary is going to be fought against by my generation anyways. Like, I seriously think some level of anonymity has to eventually go away and that criminal prosecution must be allowed to be more easily leveled against users for things like harassment and bigotry. KiwiFarms shouldn't be a thing. I also think that all entertainment and algorithmic-based social media platforms should be heavily restricted to users under 18.

I'm skeptical of Trump being a rapist because he just seems incredibly awkward and weird about women. He says and does inappropriate things and doesn't understand boundaries but it really doesn't seem like a power thing to me. This is one reason I don't really buy Carroll's story at the same time I believe he's probably inappropriately touched tons of women. This is a man who openly awkwardly kisses women in public and has for decades, but a surprising number of them understand it as some weird thing that's not entirely sexual or dominance based.
