I didn't (and wouldn't) vote for Trump, and I don't agree that The Democrats = Cancer in Pogi's metaphor, BUT I do think in life sometimes there are unforeseen positive consequences to unplanned and undesirable events.

Think about how many "...and now my life is better than ever!" stories there are from people who's spouse walked out on them and left them holding the bag. No sane person is going to vote for the life-disrupting tragedy, but sometimes the reconstruction after a breakage can be even stronger than what came before.

But I'm also a pollyanna goofball who would probably remind my wife that we have been talking about maybe moving to a place with more space if I got home one day and noticed the house had burned down 🤷‍♀️

The principle behind the end game for far-right billionaire capitol is a cyberpunk dystopia where they rule over this big country full of techno-serfs while the elite live in the upper floors of mega buildings in Blade Runner cities.

In reality things like resource / climate collapse, pandemics, etc should cause any large country like the US to completely fail and break into pieces long before that fantasy comes about.

Someone pointed out that the new fantasy Trump is selling about Canada becoming a state, whether he intends this or not, fits into a the narrative that nothing better can ever exist anywhere outside America. And if necessary America will take over other places to make them into America, so Americans stay comfortable in their misery/arrogance and cynicism/pride.

In reality it's more likely in a few decades that parts of what was the United States will be provinces of Canada.
