To make it short: I'm tryna be a good boyfriend and get my girl a heating pad for any potential period cramps she might have because I know that stuff sucks. However, since I don't have a uterus, I have no idea what I'm supposed to look for or what's good.

Just a heads up but not only persons with uteruses can get period craps. ; )

My main advice is to ignore the haters, OP.

My GF has an electric blanket, and says a hot water bottle works best for her. We got a microwavable bag with those gel balls inside, but the thing smells chemical-y when heated up.

I'm going to take a look at some of these heating pads people have mentioned though, thanks for the ideas

The elite Persian infantry unit, the Immortals. They're literally the royal guard, so rescuing the Prince is their explicit job.

It's definitely a strong implication and at absolute minimum, clear that Gwen's personal arc in the film is meant to run parallel to the trans experience. I'm not sure if they'll ever confirm flat-out that Gwen is trans herself though, especially since she's voiced by a cisgendered VA.

Unironic question about that. How does the representation thing work here? If Gwen is a woman, and your credo is trans women are women, is that not representation in itself? If you’re obsessing over cis or trans, you don’t believe the credo, yeah? Likewise, if you don’t identify with cis women, is there an expectation for cis women to relate with trans women? It’s confusing. For me, if Elliot Page was cast as Wolverine, I’d be cool with it. Finally representing Logan as the Canadian manlet from the comics.

Usually I think of them as Scientologists, because the central promises they make are the same (self actualisation, innate difference and specialness, a cure for their psychological disorders and self hatred) and operate under the same tactics (hunting squirrels, bullying lobby, no debate ideology). I can imagine some dude walking into a celebrity centre and getting more or less the same pitch as someone joining egg_irl, going clear = gender euphoria, etc etc
