I don't even know if I want a response. But it's been years since I posted a "Roy went on a bad date" thread.

So, I was on a first (?) date last night with someone I've known casually for a while now. I wouldn't say we're friends, we run in different circles, but those circles frequently overlap. We have mutual friends, we've been at the same parties, I've talked to him before, etc.. I had never stopped to think if I was attracted to him, but he is attractive, and he apparently thinks I'm attractive too because he asked me out (and, according to a mutual, has been asking about me for while).

Based on previous conversations with him, I thought "cool! we'll have a good time at least." I don't date guys looking for husbands. I date for a fun time.

We agree to my favorite type of date -- not planned, we meet up in the city and walk around looking for something fun to do. We meet up downtown and walk for a bit until we end up at a food spot. We sit down and eat and that's around the time I notice that I'm carrying the conversation. Granted, I talk a lot and I know this, but he's contributed little to nothing. Which is a huge departure from how he usually is. I know him, I've spoken to him before. He's usually loud and cocky and walking the line between narcissist and confident, and I LIKE that. He's usually got a lot to say, but on this date...at one point we literally have this interaction:

Him: Roy, can I ask you a question?
Roy: Sure
Him: Because I just don't want to offend you...
Roy: Ok, I doubt you'll offend me...
Him: And I just want to make sure I'm not being ignorant...
Roy: Cool...what's your question.?

And I don't want to say what his question was, in case he has an Era account, but let's just say that his question didn't require even half of this lead up. Or shyness. And it was around this point that I thought...where did this come from? All night he seemed to be acting as though he were on eggshells. One of the most attractive traits about this guy, to me, has been how loud and outspoken he is, btut on this date up to this point, it felt like pulling teeth. We went from the dinner spot to a bistro that a friend of his opened, and it was the same thing: me pulling conversation out of a guy that was buried in a shell that I hadn't known existed up to that point.

We ended up at a dance club late night. He was multiple drinks in and very handsy by this point -- which I encouraged, because it was better than nothing. But, when we left that club...I pointedly didn't invite him over for the night.

But when conversation was so tense and forced feeling...it was hard for me to believe that sex would be any different, so...pass.

I guess I'm making this thread because he's messaged me a few times today, wanting to arrange another date. And I should want another date; he checks so many boxes, but...that first date was so bad...for me and, I'm sure, for him....

I once had someone really cool tell me about her suicide plans minutes into our date, so yes.

I've also had this happen before where I was probably the person in the wrong looking back. Like once I was way too thirsty for this one person before we met up, then we met up and she was late and I was disinterested and she left 15 minutes in. I don't really know that person, I can't say if she was a good person, but either way the date was probably bad because of my own actions.

 Hi everyone, I just snuck into the mess hall after they arrested me at the protest to post from the Trump camp. I'm still alive and kicking and I caught a glimpse of Orange Mussolini in the limo and flipped him off. As an act of defiance I literally threw up in the corner and dropped dead on the floor as he passed by and they arrested me, if they want to treat me like an animal before they genocide me so be it.
