To be honest is someone died here at my house I wouldn't notice either until the smell was strong enough to smell something is wrong. I only leave my room to use the bathroom, eat, go shopping and work. I never check my email and I'll only pick up the phone if the caller is on my contact list, so missing stuff like that for me would also be plausible. Same with the headphones I have mine on all day while I'm home in my room and they have noise canceling so I can't hear shit, my room door is closed as well and I have those on all day so if you're knocking I won't hear it.

To be fair my neighbour was murdered by her abusive boyfriend and I slept through it. Just like I slept through falling out of bed, multiple fire alarms, break ins, floods and many other things. The detectives didn't believe it at first and they were hoping I could testify until they got smart and decided to ring the bell at 5PM on a sunday after a week of being unable to wake me early.

"We knocked on your door for 30 minutes for the past 5 days between 7AM and 8AM sir, we used sirens, shouted, woke up the neighbours, we banged on the windows, weren't you at home? Your car was out front and your neighbours had seen you at home and leave for work afterwards." 

"I was sleeping officer. I usually wake up around 9. Maybe 8:30 if I'm lucky." 

"Well sir... usually we don't believe people can sleep through all that noise or the lights but..."

At that point I could see on their faces that they realized I had actually slept through an actual murder and the ambulances and police sirens and everything and also their many failed attempts to wake me up.

Apparently people 2 blocks away heard the screams and loud noises as she fought for her life. The 'bad-cop' detective boasted that if their attempt to get in contact on Sunday failed they would've busted the door at 5AM on Monday. I told him that waking me up before 8AM would've been impossible anyway and he could've used the time waiting to install a new door.

Come on now, I think traditional message boards are a little different and less damaging than the algorithm based endless scrolling apps, that are 95% ads, and are designed specifically to trap people in an addictive dopamine reward spiral.

Honestly, it would be great if society shifted back towards traditional forms of "social media" like message boards (not likely) because obviously we need a way for marginalized individuals to be able to connect and form communities. But endless scrolling social media apps are absolutely rotting people's brains, and society as a whole would unquestionably be better off without them.

Now that publication has been democratized, this underclass of people have the ability to be right in front of your face, for better or worse!

I'm not fully convinced, the clips I've seen of the streams indicate someone who is a few loaves short of a bakery at minimum. Even the written content betrays a certain...development issue.
