Yeah. Aside from the fact that the claim is inherently unbelievable (sorry folks) the idea that a creator would tuck a legendary narrative triumph away in a game with imagery like this speaks poorly of the writers' sensibilities as a writer.

Because True Detective was a neo noir show, and this is a gacha anime game that happens to have an aceptable story. Totally the same genre and expectations. That is how fiction works. 

But half of the forum where defending stuff like The Marvels with “it is fun” or saying that The Last Jedi is for intellectuals and people just doesn’t get it.  

Its all the fault of the Chuds that people cannot discuss media anymore without going batshit insane.

I've seen people on Reddit criticizing Resetera for being pro imperialism or centrist more than once, apparently they weren't wrong.

This is insanity. How does a trans person have an advantage in pool of all games?

It reminds of the banning of trans women in Chess. If there were any sports you'd think these people would concede a man doesn't have an "advantage" it'd be recreational sports like Chess, video games, etc. But nope, they're still some unforeseen and unproven advantages and we can't be bothered to provide evidence of it so sweeping ban.

It's so transparent in what the real issue is.

That there doesn't need to be a separate women's category at all if men have no advantage?

It's hilarious how they refuse to understand that there's also a cultural factor to a women division. Boys are simply more encouraged to play Chess or Snooker, and that includes boys who come out as trans later. The women division tries to nurture talent and that will be affected if all the top players are trans. 
There was that hilarious "women in esports" clip where like 4 out 5 women were trans. That can't be the goal here

Yeah, I was wrong with my earlier takes in this thread.

After thinking about it for a bit and reading some other takes elsewhere, I was obviously coming at this from the wrong direction, which was from the viewpoint of her historically having a lot of unfair criticism and blatant misogyny thrown at her for simply existing. (Which is sometimes a problem even here on Era, as recent as threads about her music yesterday and at least one post in this thread making a "joke" about the number of men she's dated.)

This situation isn't one of those cases though. She (and/or her team) shouldn't be trying to scare/intimidate this student. And obviously, it's irresponsible to travel as she's been traveling. I don't think I realized how bad it was until looking into it further.

Yeah I'll just say with the pure amount and international consensus on this game being not great, it's a bit silly at this point to speculate about some weird tinfoil hat conspiracy taking place by THE MEDIA to downplay this game for whatever the fuck illogical made-up, but never explained reason.

The game's just a bad game. If people are having tons of fun with it, that's great, but at some point you gotta see that you're the exception, not the evil mean games media. I really really enjoyed Anthem and I'd never go say "everyone's wrong the game is fantastic". It just hit notes for me most other similar games didn't.

Is less a conspiracy and more about how clear that there is a big ass bias against the IP, the publisher and the genre. The game seem to be decent enough to have goodwill at Steam of all places, so people are mostly irritated in how much disproportionate vitrol the game got and they feel the videogame press played on it, specially after the IGN shistorm. 

I think is worse to pretend that critics cannot do wrong or not be in tune with the audience.
