That said, I do find it somewhat comical that criminals like SBF will never play the next GTA - at least not anytime soon.
Why do we need to evaluate our priorities? Some of us do live with the fear of eventually dying, and gaming might be one of the hobbies that we can do.

Imagine being this butthurt about social media recommendations... they don't even stop to think that their extremist rhetoric is why youtube/twitter/etc consider them to be extremists and are recommending other weird extreme content
I don't get it, I'm more aligned with "alt-right" and "gamergate" fucks than they are but I seriously never get any of them.
You know what I don't watch? "Progressive" outrage channels that do nothing but complain about these.

Muslims are disproportionately jailed in places like Canada and Europe. Jails in France famously had a majority Muslim prison population while having an overall Muslim population of less than ten percent. It's not a coincidence; they're marginalized because these societies and the people therein set out to marginalize them.
I think there is more worthwhile places to fight marginalization over secularism at school, specially because past incidents indicate that Muslims tend to overreact about this.
Fucking RE inability to understand why secularism is good thing because “DISCRIMINATION!”.
Thordison wrote:Let folks pray. It's not that hard.
I agree… just not in school.
It’s difficult to tell who fell face first into propaganda or if it’s white guilt or is deliberately exploiting religion. But the insistence that Islam is somehow some this fresh small ideology and above criticism continues to be crazy. It’s the second (debatably the first) biggest religion in the world. Until about a hundred years ago you had various caliphates and conquests under the religion. In relatively modern contexts, you have cases like Lebanon, Iran, Armenia, etc. In the several Muslim majority nations, this tolerance for other religions just doesn’t exist.
That’s all to say, you can admit it’s weird. We’re all cool with saying Mormons are weird. Nobody interjects to defend soaking. That’s the nice thing about secular societies.
Another take is that the YouTube and Twitter algorithms are doing their best work in trying to balance the recommendations to these idiots to try to stop them falling down the rabbit hole of confirmation bias that they desperately seek.
TikTok, coming from what is a closed society that has a vested interest in not allowing dissenting views, might be fine with people just being fed a self-approved diet of extremist content.

An idiot like Crossing Eden thinks the topic has been shutdown on Tik Tok because he watched a single video saying there was no issue which is what he wanted to be told and then he stopped engaging completely in the topic. But on Twitter he has to face the "active desire" of "executives" to "make sure people remain as polarized as possible" by allowing discussion to happen.
edit: The YouTube situation has more to do with those channels that just constantly put out topics, you look at them and they do like ten videos a day and shit, it's nothing but reading some news story and then rambling about it for a few minutes. These are popular because it's how a lot of people get their news, I'm not sure they actually have any ideological connection to the person. There's tons of these that aren't even ideological, they're basically hype for everything channels, which is probably "alt-right" since the inverse is what ResetERA.com does.

They think it's some elaborate ideological conspiracy across thousands of executives but I bet it's really a crude equation like if you watch five BreadTube or Ben Shapiro videos it will surface something on the same topic tagged with the opposite political view. And maybe another tagged "centrist" or whatever.
Then when they get a single video like that poking their safe space bubble they freak out even though they could just not click on it and just watch whatever stupid shit is next from the channels they like.
You're probably right that Tik Tok doesn't even bother. Especially considering the length of the videos on there.

Actually now that I think about it, I realized that Crossing Eden's conspiracy theory is the inverse of what you would do if you wanted to polarize people. Keeping them in their bubbles is the way to polarization because they'll never have the bubbles broken with dissent. The reason Fox News and MSNBC "polarized us" is because it went from people being able to escape the dominant narrative sometimes to people refusing to watch content that went against their own views. Fox got hit with this most severely when they refused to back Trump Uber Alles, MAGA didn't care that Tucker and Sean Hannity still agreed with them, they couldn't abide any dissent against Trump.
It's called siloing and it's not some advanced science or anything. It's also why ResetERA.com can't ever fathom that people don't agree with them and will still buy Harry Potter stuff or not go see The Marvels.
These guys are supposed to be our intellectual betters who can uncover the false consciousness and expose the dominant narratives underlying the system but they lock themselves into such a narcissistic ideological silo that they'll willingly abandon asking any questions completely. (With good reason since that's what the bad people outside the silo do.)
Then they accuse everyone else of doing this deliberately because why else would someone disagree with them.

I mean, a lot of the reposted Trump clips I see on X now all have that Tiktok intro thing and it's mostly recycled 2016 - 2020 stuff or AI content with Trump in GTA or Minecraft or whatever.

This is all rambling, but much of the balance in literature and media for women is desiring and being desired. All of the Jane Austen stuff to Twilight to those Fabio cover books to shoujo manga etc. They tend to take the passive role. Not necessarily without agency. It’s compared with romance media for men that puts them in the active role. It’s winning the girl and stuff like that. There’s a whole argument about gender roles and tropes and whatever. But vast majority follow tropes for a reason.
I think the point I’m trying to find is how these guys don’t really know what it is to be desired or how to win somebody over. There’s a bitterness over how ordinary people connect with romance. Even the dudes in relationships probably never felt that way.
