I've seen more fake overheating videos than real ones. Not to discount people that have actually experienced it, but there's a lot of claims floating around and videos with very clearly fake PS5 UI elements that I think are making the issue seem bigger than it is. You see this happen with a lot of big games that are really pushing the hardware, just the nature of mass-produced hardware where you're going to find units that have a fault that hadn't been exposed previously.

If your console is just straight up turning off without a warning, it's less likely an overheat and more likely a PSU failure where the PSU is shutting itself down to prevent component damage. If you're getting an actual overheat message, it makes sense to open the system up and clean it of dust or re-evaluate where it's sitting in your entertainment center, make sure it's getting proper airflow, stick it near an A/C if you're in a particularly hot environment, etc. I've been playing the game on a launch unit in Houston where it's been 100+ F outside and 78-80 F inside and haven't personally had any issue.

This isn't a left wing forum, the way the acquisition thread has been moderated, banning anyone who speaks out against a trillion dollar company squeezing out competitors through acquisitions is proof of that. You even have people there sympathetic to the GOP because they will weaken regulations and the FTC.

Read stuff hachikoma posts in the US Politics thread and elsewhere. There's quite a bit. You will find no better resource on Era, at least, and possibly elsewhere too.

I think it's fair to mention that Government only has limited resources -- time and labor, basically. Governance is the business of resource allocation. No one would realistically expect that the US Government could feasibly do everything on, for example, hachi's list -- but if does none of them, that's a choice, and it's one that's seen.

Maybe it's a conscious choice for political reasons, which... again, is a choice.

Boys club isn't always strictly leaning misogyny or clear cut sexism. I think a lot of different behaviour especially in an environment where majority of the users are enthusiasts and the industry works like a hype factory can be potentially uncomfortable. We might feel it as cringey or borderline toxic or creepy or just... overly enthuse fan craze. Sometimes it isn't one person but the culmination of majority of the users and off-site opinions as well, from general or from popular figures. It can add weight to change the atmosphere of a thread and it can be unpleasant. It isn't always just boys club contributing either.

Always a good sign when the cops can't explain the laws they expect you to follow.

I love how they can't conceive of a system that isn't a top-down cop imposing on everyone. Community Notes aren't placed by any "editor" or Twitter staff member, if you've signed up to make them they just show up and you vote for/against and they show up after enough positive votes. Trans Twitter actually was brigading these a few weeks ago to try and get them off posts, for example the ACLU one about that murderer-rapist of children denied gender affirming care, something I'm pretty sure was mentioned on ResetERA.com for another instance since many of their "expert" accounts openly call for people to brigade the Community Notes to get them to go away.
