Going off-topic, but I hate seeing people still post pictures of Frosk in Twitter replies as if it's some sort of one-up.

Frosk was entirely right during her segment on X-Play, and the way she was treated by the community and G4 after that was fucked up.

Sincere post. Interacting with the brand in real life was interesting. Marketing was tailored towards young working adults and up. Not as much nerds and teens like Persona. And a lot of adult women seemed into it. Something about shirtless buff dudes having deep emotional bonds with other shirtless buff dudes appeals to women. Who knew.

I can see why it would bother people, but I don't know, after seeing how the massacre in Gaza is going -- and how essential good journalism on the ground is -- I see this quote speaking to something that is very powerful.

It seems like this movie focuses on how people in America would react once the violence and bloodshed that they've grown numb to seeing in other countries finally hits home. I think that's an especially potent concept now, because it genuinely feels like America is about to crack open this year.

Described like this it's an interesting theme to explore. But I would have preferred a different device to explore it.

The easiest way I can explain this is that if some kind of minority depicted an American Civil War in a movie I'm doubtful they'd take the apolitical route of depicting it, let alone not really digging into it. Don't know what the actual content is, but I'm still nervous about this. Can't decide if it is a totally irresponsible film to release right now, or if I'm just inflating it's importance. If there's one thing we don't need it's a "both sides are bad" narrative.

Old world religions, which were nature-based, had/have a much better understanding of the world we live in, our role in it, and humanity than the abrahamic religions ever has.

And the abrahamic religion(s) set itself out, to eradicate every other religion. Go look what happened to pre-Islamic-Arabia/Middle-east/North Africa. Go look at what happened to pre-Christian-Europe.

The religion(s), for most of its history, and its spread, is intrinsically tied to violence.

Go read what the abrahamic religion(s) say about "pagans" and destroying their "idols". They use pagan but what they mean is "indigenous people". Go look what the early Islamic and Christian Kingdoms did. All because people did not want to convert to this "englightened" religion that was foreign to them, who themselves already had much older beliefs.

Go look at how Charlemagne waged genocidal campaigns against Germanic tribes, because they refused to convert. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam were spread through subjugation and violence over a course of centuries against the other indigenous people that inhabited the regions, and it all came from the top from a few small kingdoms where nobility adopted them.

Go look what happened to Persia, when it was conquered by an Islamic kingdom, their native religion, Zoroastrianism, was wiped out through oppression.

People of the old world religions whether pre-islamic middle-east, europe, wherever, were in a constant struggle against the eradication of their beliefs which were much older before this new and "englightened" abramahic religion(s) being forced upon them

You will find a lot more understanding and peace when learn about old world religions and see what the enlightened one did with concepts of "sin" and "salvation"

Buddhism for example, is today something you can learn of, and its very much all the same concepts as other old world religions whether it is native american, european, arabic polytheism, etc. It much better understands our world, nature, and people, and the self than the abrahamic ones. You can also look into Stoicism which is philosophy not religion, but concepts of stoicism are the same found in old world religions.
