I hate how you can't claim it's a social contagion because there are historical examples of group identification that increased as harm was diminished, minor things like left-handedness becoming more prominent once they stopped beating people for trying to use their left hands, or autism "becoming more widespread and common" just because our ability to identify it improved over time

Believe it or not I am a legit expert in this field (how the internet is warping brains) and I'm not going to elaborate on it in case I get reverse Benji'd. However it has much more to do with the social aspect than the content aspect. I think it all comes down to hating what you dislike compared to enjoying and promoting what you like and how that shifted on the left.

You have the vocal ResetEra crowd. They hate the depiction of beautiful women. All they do is lash out in bitterness and people laugh and ridicule them. Just look at those ridiculous anti-white racist 'community managers' Grummz has found working across the industry. Meanwhile the average Tifa or Stellar Blade enjoyer is having a good time, laughing at them and skipping bad products while they enjoy 3D milkers or 2D fan service. Just once again, as a CSA survivor I am very sensitive to this kind of stuff, and I kind of actually think him being iver the top evil is amazing because I don't think anyone who does those kind of things has any goodness in them. It's jst you know it kind of plays alsmost into exploitation type stuff, not quite as bad as sucker punch but still very much trying to be upsetting on purpose without really having any empathy for Alice's situation.
Also as someone who's been in therapy for years, I'd kind of personally rahter a story about someone trying to cope over a story based purely on recovery, as it feels like, at ealst for me, that recovery is never giong to be possible, and I'd like stories about that being ok

yes that is true and I am sorry for reducing it down to calss and wording myself poorly. I was just trying to justify why the media for example keeps going on cycles of bigotry. I do agree that a lot of people are just purely hateful, though I personally believe that humans are mostly good people, though that is hampered by societal forces, albiet evil also exists which is something I can attest to as someone who was sexually abused basically just because I was a special needs child and it was easy to get me alone. Like, if people weren't at least somewhat good inherently you wouldn't see the disabled cavemen bones.
I don't know. I do want to believe there is a lot of good in this world but it is hard, and I am mostly trying to justify things to myself.

My wife and I are expecting our second child next month and we are looking to trade her 12 year old Toyota RAV4 for a new Toyota Sienna minivan because we live in Phoenix and her RAV4 doesn't have AC vents in the back.

First of all, new and used cars are expensive and there are a lot of hidden dealer fees that I had no idea even existed. $40,000 for the car + fees + taxes add up to $50,000 somehow.

Additionally, the car we want is never is stock so what dealerships do these days is start a bidding war on who will pay more for the car so when it actually arrives, they can legal sell the car to the person who is willing to pay the most.

And finally, since we are paying in 100% in cash for the car, the dealer keeps telling us that they prefer to sell the car to people who want to finance it through the Toyota finance program.

So no matter what, we are screwed. Worst part, used cars sell as much as new ones. Pretty annoying. When I bought my car in 2020, things used to normal where you could actually negotiate the prices.

Everything is a fucking monumental soul crushing event to these idiots.

You want a Toyota Sienna minivan? Ok, great, minivan for a family makes sense. Oh, you want a new one? You want a new vehicle the same size as a full size SUV and with more utility than just about anything else on the road and you're annoyed it costs $50,000 and will last the next 20 years?
