It’s a quote from Ocarina of Time and it’s only resonated more as I’ve gotten older.

In context, Zelda is saying this to Link after he doesn’t find Saria at her tree stand.

It’s a double meaning: Link has returned to his childhood home as an adult but all of his friends are still kids and learning that he never really belonged there as he was never a Kokiri but he still has memories of his younger days.

I’ve found the quote hits me hard because it makes me remember my days as a 10 year old boy playing this game with mouth agape. 

It really is an amazing game, even today.

Joke about it all you want but with OOT and MM Aonuma and Koizumi nailed that feeling of existential dread and unsettling creepiness long before Yoko Taro did.

Stuff like this is why MCU discourse (or film discourse in general) is so frustrating these days. It should be possible to talk about the film's issues (it does have some bad shots/obvious green screen in a few spots) without absurd hyperbole.

Either way, No Way Home has some issues but it's one of the greatest superhero movies of all time and the best live action Spider-Man film. It's incredibly what they managed to pull off with this movie, especially during COVID. I like it just as much now as I did then.

Now that time has passed, many are going back and watching it and realizing how many flaws it has, without the theater experience to prop it up.

But good to know IMDb and RT audience scores, two things they otherwise screech into the void about because of them CHUDS bringing scores down, is suddenly a good barometer again because it fits their agenda.
