Gears and Halo suffer the same error of having all the most interesting parts in the lore outside the games. And that they cannot move on from the OG enemy faction. But I think Gears has been the one that suffered getting on the spotlight again.

I legitimately punched a hole through my coffee table fighting the Defiled Watchdog. That whole series of dungeons was unmitigated shit, and locking the Queen Yharnam boss behind them was unnecessary cruelty.

I got so mad at Guardian Ape in Sekiro that I got sick for nine days afterward. Just dying over and over and over and over and over again to that stupid fucking boss. I almost snapped my DS4 in half down the middle.

Sekiro being single-player-only and being focused exclusively around parrying meant it forced me into a style of play I hated and gave me no options to beat bosses any way beyond that one strategy. It was a perfect confluence of factors designed to make me absurdly mad. The anger and stress the game caused in me literally weakened my immune system. It sucked.

Exhaustingly. When I was stuck on the Defiled Watchdog of the Old Lords for 9 straight hours I punched a hole through a coffee table.

I genuinely cannot believe how bad the combat and the boss fights were in TEW2. The stealth fundamentally doesn't work, and so many enemies can soak up absolutely absurd amounts of ammo and not even fall down.

The flamethrower boss near the end of the game made me so angry it gave me stress flashbacks to the Defiled Watchdog from Bloodborne, which is a boss that made me punch a hole through a coffee table. I literally emptied every single shot of every single weapon I had into him and he kept going. Miserable, miserable experience.

By Gears 5 reviewers said it had "grown up" because of the more 'mature' themes, 'deeper' story lines, anti-war messages, trauma, loss and moments to contemplate your actions. 
While I didn't think Gears 5 was that bad, I liked the simplicity and relentless pacing of this more:


Gears 2 especially was a rollercoaster ride, probably the best game in the series.

All the story beats were there simply to fuel your rage boner so the brehs had reasons to blow these freaks to bits without remorse in a blood soaked tour of vengeance.

I only could play 1, I never got the hype, I just thought that what people really liked was the multiplayer. Halo 1 was similar but was fun as hell to play and the music tricked the dumbass young me in thinking it was the most epic shit in history of storytelling. And I think Halo 2 has legit great moments and lines… wasted in a “to be continue” game, so I didn’t play 3.

I personally always thought the Portal was a ridiculous product. Imagine paying lots of money to stream PS5 games and that's the ONLY thing it does. Meanwhile an Odin, a Steam Deck, a Legion Go/Ally, hell even your phones can stream PS5 and other system's games using Chiaki, PS Remote Play apps, Moonlight, Steam Link, etc. I was never able to fathom what would compel someone to buy such a goofy, ugly-looking device for such a niche use case, when most of us already have devices that enable this feature without needing to buy one of these things.

I'm not gonna dunk on NothingLoud for pointing out what a pile of shit the Playstation Portal is.

Yes. My brother was an absolute hair trigger growing up. So many holes punched in walls. At one point he absolutely snapped and bought a gun. He was pretty scary when he was on a tear.

That's the entire point.  He takes things like careers, incidents, schooling, that happened to other people and confabulates them with his own life.  Or vice versa in the "punched an hole though," narrative.  He's the rage machine and now another person is.  His brother is.

Edit: Era is now full of these weirdos who have a single perspective that must be respected and never contradicted. I did a search, "What ever happened to the web site WWTDD (What would tyler durden do?)" and a top link was NeoGaf asking the same question in 2012.
