I'm not a fan of MS having even more developers and IP's under their belt, given their history of killing studios and sunsetting brands they buy.  That said, I'm also not a fan of Sony doing the arrogant-ass Sony thing again, and if we're really lucky maybe a stronger xbox brand will bring them back to fun and creative Sony.

Picked up an 8bitdo Ultimate controller during the Prime sale. Bummed that I don’t like it

Used their older controller for years. Don’t know the model. Basically it’s an SNES controller with grips, analog sticks, and triggers. Nearly perfect for my uses. The changes I wanted were an Xbox layout and 2.4ghz dongle. On paper, the ultimate controller is that, with the bonus of back buttons. But getting my hands on it, so much if it feels wrong for me. Grips are too small. Dpad and button are stiff and gummy. The triggers have five times the resistance of any other controller I’ve used. Maybe I got a dud.

Sony has never been fun and creative though. Their advantage has always been the ability to design and manufacture their own hardware much like Apple allowing them to sustain platforms longer than the competition and opting for cheap media like CD's in favor of cartridges ensuring that publishing costs for third parties are low and retailers get a better cut. They always win on the boring margins and actually sell hardware at a profit.

The platforms that failed didn't have those advantages. The PS3 was too expensive to produce and had to be sold at a significant loss and the PSP/Vita had expensive UMD's and cards.
Sony can now heaviliy discount the PS5 and drop the PS5 Slim soon and Microsoft can't lower the price of the Series X or set-up a manufacturing line for a Series X 'Slim' that yields a cheaper product because most parts they need are probably more expensive to source now than they were 3 years ago. 

The reason Microsoft lost this gen, is that they favored production of Xbox cloud servers over Xbox Series X consoles, meaning the PS5 supply issues were fixed about 6 months earlier.
Next they decided to focus on producing more Series S than Series X consoles for the 2022 holiday season that didn't sell. Without boxes to sell there was nothing to promote and without anything to promote the boxes don't sell.

On the original Xbox these fighters were like a 6, on the Xbox 360 a 7... but now we have 10's.... we only have 10's. I went to Japan. I said, they need to bounce more. And they bowed and said: "Sir, we can't do that sir. It's too much for the processor sir" and I said: "What? Nobody told me about the processor". So I got back from my trip to Japan and I said to the guys making the console you need to make it faster or you're fired. And I called Mr. Itagaki and I said, look. We're getting you the Gigahertz, we're getting you the RAM can you do it. And he did, it's fantastic, Dead or Alive 7, they bounce like they've never bounced before, it's beautiful with 4k resolution and realistic skin simulation and you will never ever get this on FailStation because frankly in terms of processing it doesn't have the gigahertz.

Warzone 3 is just Warzone and doesnt have to go to sony

They don't even need that sort of trickery. As long as consumers know that Xbox is the lead platform then they will get all the benefit platform-wise and still turn profit from PlayStation holdouts.

Not sure what to think. Back in the Wii U days the 'Cafe' stuff seemed fake but was actually real early material drawn up by NOA to try and get developers on board. There were also some early trailers leaked for LEGO City and Rayman on Wii U. The same with the TOTK Switch, that looked fake but was actually real.



the sliding controller thing is really the kind of shit Nintendo would come up with.

It's cheaper because it's not as powerful as their other models, from what I understand.

Yeah. Seems to be weaker than the Retroid 3 Plus, but well above the Retroid 2. Plenty there to push anything Dreamcast and earlier. That what I’m after.

Larger screen would’ve been nice. The Anbernic 405M has a 4” 4:3 screen without huge bezels. The other reason it seems cheap is reusing parts from the old design.
