Downplaying sexual abuse of a minor….

It’s incredible how they will circle the caravans just because the person is transgender

The men with guns come to the door. They bundle you into a van. You go into a dark room, hooded, where a kangaroo court reads your sentence. They throw you into a cell, blindfolded. You hear breathing in the room. A burly, breathy voice in the corner says 'I WON'T BE ABLE TO GET MY FUCKING AMPHETAMINES JESUS CHRIST'. This is your life now, forever.

To be fair, in many ways these are the types of Star Wars stories you’d find in books, comics, games. Relatively niche stories most people weren’t exposed to.

Now we’re seeing Luuke types of slop in mega budget TV shows from Disney.

When Disney bought Star Wars, I thought they were going the Marvel route of pick and choose the better (or more mainstream, if you like) elements of the comics. That’s why we didn’t get an Iron Man that puts heroes in concentration camps and the Avengers being the Ultimates without the Mark Millar baggage.

But they decided to throw everything out the window with Star Wars (and people, short sighted, celebrated it) until it was clear they had no better ideas other than rehash or “subvert expectations”.and somehow it feels they have chosen the worse elements of the ExpandedUniverse to latch on.

The Acolyte sounds like a decent idea on paper but without the writing chops to pull it off, just baffled that they decided to end it with “to be continued…” as if they expected to people to give a shit. Beyond being woke or not, when your main characters are unlikeable and the only one with a talented actor dies at the end… lol

I dunno, I just think Star Wars is not fun to follow anymore, even if you are only interested in the fandom drama, because it sounds this pissed everyone off to the point that Mike from RLM needed to concede “the Jedi were less stupid in the prequels”.

Half watched the Obiwan show and they actually did this. It was really dumb. Outdone by the ending where we learn Obiwan and Vader fought once more between 3 and 4. Obiwan wins by, and I will stress this isn’t a shitpost, throwing rocks at Vader. And the show has Quigon’s return as a force ghost asking Obiwan to help him find that black robed bastard.

Unpopular opinion time: Darth Vader is lame. Always have. I was pissed by the ending of Fallen Order when they tried to make him cool and all powerful. I’m glad to hear he was defeated by rocks. lol

Maybe is the consequence with growing up with the Super Nintendo games were Luke has all this cool force powers… and the old trilogy has him losing his hand in a duel with his crippled dad. And years later… Revenge of the Sith happened and made Anakin way more lame even when doing acrobatics in the middle of a duel in lava planet.

Not saying that force powers aren’t dumb, but that people genuinely have different perceptions of Star Wars depending of what films you grow with, for better or worse. So, to me, Darth Vader is inherently lame because it is obvious that the dude in the costume can barely move and the prequel arc paints him like a dunce.

It was so easy too. Just adapt the thrawn trilogy (ok, loosely since the actors are too old, or just recast them). free money.

Krazen initiates a soft-takeover of the OP (clearly with mods work) and then talks about "I am going to take over the OT to help keep things on the rails behind the scenes." Brother thinks he actually does something in the thread and doesn't have B-Dubs hand wedged firmly up his ass  lol

I badly need a job and I badly need one soon. I'm defending in 3 weeks and will lose my paycheck end of next month. Nearly lost the home due to antics by the ex.

Well the research I just published a couple of weeks ago for my dissertation…was something like the right kinds of relatable, easy to understand, important and relevant to a hot field in science that it went viral, like dozens of news articles across dozens of languages about my research and our findings now. It has a crazy metric score. I'm talking, CNN, BBC, NBC viral…

How do I best leverage what is going on at this very moment to my potential notoriety in a way that it helps my odds of getting a good job?

The first thing Nothing Loud should do is delete all the posts were they were cruising for homeless drug addicts while microdosing in their marital home, and then the hedgehog murder posts, and possibly the one where he got plastic abs because that was just off putting to employers generally on grounds of sheer neediness

That ex is the only reason he even got to go to college with a roof over his head. Nothing Loud won the lotto and all he had to do was not be a druggy freak.

I feel bad for the ex. The guy tried but there's a breaking point.

Unironically, yeah. Erasing any association with that place saves a future headache if the intention is to be somewhat noteworthy.

Star Wars is a 3 movie series. That's it. You can't change my mind on this.
