The problem with take a carrot / leave a carrot for ResetEra is that you actually need to bring some useful carrots.
The reason the Soviet Union did well right after WWII is that everyone was bringing "carrots" to rebuild factories, farms, cities and roads.
Some carrots were looted sure, but most of the carrots they produced were put to good use because there was no question which carrots were needed.

Once the rebuilding was done the plans became more and more ridiculous, more and more people were doing meaningless administrative tasks and a lot of the carrots were left behind but not taken and the type of carrots people actually needed were missing.

Most of my workmates are more right-leaning than I am, but I chalk that up to simply being that far-left rather than them being Trumpers. I did have a long conversation about political differences and basic beliefs with a fill in pharmacist that was refreshing in its respectful nature, although I wouldn't consider that person enough of a friend to hang out with.

I don't know about the laws in the UK but in USA use of force guidelines there's something called pain compliance. Basically it says if somebody's not complying and there is an immediate danger of serious injury or death you can use any force, including deadly. So it could be lawful for a cop to soccer kick you in the head while you're face down.

Playing devil's advocate if that was a situation where law enforcement thought the guy planked out face down on the ground had a detonator to a bomb or something, you could justify soccer kicking them right to the dome. The officers couldn't see his hands and he could be hiding who knows what under his chest. 

I'm just spitballing don't take that as an excuse if it turns out somebody just shoplifted something.
