Either way, the reflex to cheer for Concord's failure as if it's deserved only produces resentment and misunderstandings, creating an environment where everything is deemed obvious and real analysis is drowned out in favor of sharable quips, surface-level observations, and hyperbole. (These are not the ugliest character designs you've ever seen, Reddit—get a grip!)

Honestly, my biggest issue was how shit the reveal trailer was. The fact that they believed that their writing chops was got enough to sustain a weekly CG story cutscene drop, with those awful character designs…

I'm not going to blame individuals. It's definitely a systemic educational flaw here. From what I've seen Civics tends to be taught in HS mostly and in the later grades. Many times it is an elective too. But, as most Americans know, we check out in the later grades of HS. This seems very bad since voting and a representative democracy needs and informed population for it to work. At the same, there seems to be worldwide clamoring for autocratic nonsense, which is a more complex topic honestly.

To answer my own question, I took dedicated Civics in the 10th grade.

Also, I do have to give props to Schoolhouse Rocks.

Yes, I was going to jump on this. Men certainly don't design characters to be practical but a woman must, she would feel too self-conscious to design a character with appearance as a priority unbounded by realism.

But you know what criticism you rarely seem to hear about strippers or sex workers? How unpractical their outfits are. They'd never survive being abandoned in Bir Tawil with no rations or tools dressed like that. Clearly their outfits were designed by men.
