I agree, but in the two decades that I've gone on and off with therapy I've never found someone who can help. Half of the therapists I've gone to literally tried to tell me I need to find God lol. I just can't waste my time trying to find a good one. I'm happy for the people whom it works for but I've just never found success

This is a trial. But it's just a ticket. No jury or anything like that. But at the end of the day there will be no record of anything as it's not a criminal offense.

Some context: 7 year relationship, she ended it abruptly and out of the blue less than a month ago, we are still living in the same apartment until I can get moved out. We had a dead bedroom for the last 5ish years, she told me at the start this is a pattern for her and her libido dies and comes back so I was expecting it and was dealing with it maturely and giving her the time and space she needed.

The break up caught me completely by surprise bc less than 2 months ago we were still discussing marriage, we were still "soul mates" she was happy, everything was fine (all her words).

Well I've been completely and utterly crushed to say the least since she broke it off with me. She gave me no real explanation except that she just loves me immensely but isn't in love with me (her words)…

Fast forward a week or two and I've since found a guys name written in calligraphy to in one of her notebooks. She wrote my name like this too when we first started dating. I confronted her and she claimed it's her friend and he does calligraphy too (this is true) and they were comparing calligraphy styles. After confronting her and still seeking answers she changed to "well you were just negative and anxious a lot" (which to be fair I recently lost my dad and had some health issues etc, he she was far more negative and anxious than me but I'd never hold that against her I'd only try to help her)…

I believed her for a while but I tracked down this dudes Facebook (I haven't had a Facebook for years) and I found that she likes a lot of his posts and heart reacts to his profile pics…

Then last night, as I was packing stuff I realized I needed to do some laundry. She was out, I noticed her laundry was still in the dryer so I put it in her basket and packed it upstairs for her, in the laundry I noticed some lingerie and thongs that she has never in 7 years worn for me.

So being a lovesick loser that I am, and believe me this girl is the love of my entire life. I'd die for her. I sacrificed physical affection for years just to be with her, I paid all the bills, did all the housework, worked like a dog, took care of her mother just to show her how much I care…

so, this is a rehash of an idea that I had a long time ago. I wasn't gonna make this thread, but I gotta shout out [USER=16363]MoonsaultSlayer[/USER] for inspiring me to do it, and also [USER=15623]Uzumaki Goku[/USER] because it was in the latter's own Uncharted thread that I had the conversation about my idea for Uncharted 5 in the first place.

Naughty Dog hinted or maybe even flat out said that Nathan Drake's story is over with Uc4, but the Uncharted franchise does not have to be. The full cast of Uncharted is rather limited - which is to say within this fictional universe there isn't a very large cast of characters compared to other video game franchises, but I think there is enough in the lore than can be explained still. I want to take it back to the setting setup in Uncharted 2.

In this very scene, we see Nate drive by a bunch of resistance soldiers who don't may him any mind. One of these soldiers could be a young man, perhaps a teenager who used to live there and had his life destroyed because of __insert reason for civil war here__. We can get to what the civil war is about later, but that would basically be an origin story for our protagonist, not that the game itself primarily has to take place in 2009 (assuming Uc2 took place in 2009, the year it was released).

And speaking of the protagonist, we're going to have to give them a name. I have a Nepali colleague, I asked her for some help in naming, so let's call our main character Sanjay for now. Named after her husband.

In the above video, Chloe says that he had help from local guerillas and the city was on the brink of civil war for years and he just had to throw some gasoline onto the fire. Interesting that she says the city was on the brink of civil war, but not the country. So in this story, it's fully public knowledge that Lazarević aided the guerilla army in destroying the city. So Sanjay hates Zoran Lazarević for making matters worse in his hometown.

But as a young resistance soldier, he doesn't want to fight, he just wants to get the hell out of this life. He wants to know if his family is still alive, he wants to find them, and go somewhere safe. But he can't, he's stuck in this war. Someway or another he survives the war, and we go forward a few years. The first time I wrote this fan fiction I thought maybe the first segment of the game could take place during this part of Uc2 and then flash forward a few years, and as of writing this I think that's the best idea. Instead of flashing forward a few months or weeks instead, where Sanjay is the same age. Uncharted games have always been contemporary, so my Uncharted 5 should be the same way.

So let's say Sanjay was 13 in 2009. 15 years later in 2024, he is Twenty Eight.

I want to pause for a moment and explain my reasoning so far. I know that in Uc2's campaign, the civil war in Nepal was only a backdrop of the storytelling but it has always been something that I was curious about and wanted to know more. When you play through that entire section, there are 0 civilians that you run into. As far as we can tell it's only the resistance soldiers, the guerilla soldiers (neither of which Nate ever runs into or interacts with), and Lazarevic's mercenaries. So my Uncharted 5 is going to go back to back Uc2 and give more meaning to the civil war that happened in Nepal, reducing the population of this unnamed city to zero in 2009. That's what I meant in the beginning when I said the lore of the already established universe can be explored; the series does not need to be rebooted if continued. My Uncharted 5 is canon to the tetralogy.

So everything written up until now has been about establishing Sanjay's backstory, and his motivation. The plot of Uncharted 5 doesn't necessarily have to be about treasure hunting; that was all Nathan Drake. He was motivated by money. Sanjay doesn't necessarily need money as a motivation. His childhood was ruined because of war. And therefore, he may have ended up having a cynical outlook on life for a while, similarly to Future Trunks from Dragon Ball Z.

I will read this fully later, but I want to give a huge shout out for including a minority or more accurately, a major player more heavily and personally affected by the histories and legends of these games (I know Chloe kinda fits the bill in LL but she was still among the gold hunting thieves club) in the lead role.

So, I blew out a tire on a bridge about a week ago. I was in a terrible spot to stop, so I dragged it across the bridge and immediately pulled off the road, which caused significant damage to the underside of the vehicle. It's about a $4800 fix.

Fortunately, my insurance said they would pay for the repair, and that all I would be responsible for was $500 plus a "slight difference" due to a premium the shop was charging on the parts.

Well, I got the check today…for $2300. That includes the $250 for the tow. So a "slight difference" is, I guess, more than half the bill, which I just can't afford right now.
