I've been playing the game lately, and while I can't say I appreciate how Aloy never seems to shut up and always feels the need to tell exactly what must be done, let's say that in general I try to ignore it and move on.

Earlier today, however, a specific instance happened that was so ridiculous that it just made me laugh. I was doing a sidequest with that nerd Alva. A numerical code is needed to open a door. I scan around, and find a message that says that the code is the founding date (month and year) of the defunct company whose derelict building we're exploring. Alva says that she knows the date, October 2023. Very well, I go to the door to enter the code, and as soon as the dial shows up, Aloy goes "You said that the company was founded in October...", to which Alva responds "Which is the 10th month of the year!".

I mean, come on. It's one thing to give hints, but this is just treating the player as an absolute idiot.

Dear developers, if you want to assist the player, that's fine, I'm not telling it shouldn't be done in any case; however:
- At least try to do it in a way that respects the player's intelligence
- Make it optional for those who wish to actually engage with the game you designed

Sorry for the rant, this particular case was so stupid that I felt the need to write something about it.

I've long started to stop taking people seriously who still mention October 7th. What happened then is such an insignificant event compared to ANYTHING that's been happening ever since.

They're a loud minority who do a good amount of harassment. They basically claim responsibility anytime something they hate does poorly and nope out of things whenever something they hate does well, other than harassment campaigns I don't think they move the needle at all, they just yell louder than everyone else in the room.

This is a very succinct way of framing these people. They should in no way be taken seriously beyond their willingness to terrorize, and even at that, they are very unindustrious. Yes, they're misogynist, racist, fascist, homophobic, and a lot of the other -ists and -ics, but if you took away their keyboards, they're ultimately sad, ineffectual toddlers who are so out of control of their own lives that they have to roleplay on the internet like they're a man of 1000 fights.
