I understand wanting an actor with a bit more definition because Abby's definition is part (key word here) of her character - but so is literally everything else about her. Given that Abby incapacitates Joel with a shotgun to the leg and not by grappling him to the ground, yes, I think it can be worked around. Her physicality was as much to seperate her game play style from Ellie's as it was a storytelling device.

It was honestly embarassing seeing the people that excoriated any mild criticism of Bella turn on a dime and act like they got the wrong color Iphone for christmas when Dina and Abby were cast. Two of the best actors working today and that apparently wasn't good enough.

As someone who works out like Abby and has body shamed for it (despite not even being on that level) because it's not considered "conventionally attractive" for AFAB people, I think you're being incredibly disingenuous to equate all criticism to iPhone colors. There's a reason that people, especially AFAB, felt that Abby's in game model was important body representation along with an interesting way to showcase some of her character traits and it's disappointing they didn't carry it into the mainstream adaptation. It's not even close to complaints about Bella and it's very shitty of you to pretend it's all the same.

1. I don't care if anybody dislikes the constant male gaze or focus on the character's sex appeal, I completely welcome people complaining about it and know it's off-putting to a lot of people, especially women, who dislike the over reliance on female characters as eye-candy in games.

2. Eve is not objectified in or empowered by her portrayal, because to be objectified or empowered one has to exist, to be a person.

As for Elliot Page I'd say creating a nude model of somebody against the terms of a contract is extremely creepy, but I don't think Zennyrt has ever expressed any problem with her work on Stellar Blade or ever implied the developers were duplicitous in regards to what they put of her into the game. I don't remember the name of the character from Beyond, I just called her Juno :P, but I wouldn't say the problem is that "Juno" was objectified, but that Elliot Page had a realistic nude model based on them created and inserted into the game without their consent.
