I don't know who (in the west) was complaining about the male/female options to begin with, and generally I think I keep up with the DQ community. I'm an experienced Kojima watcher. I find him fascinating. What is odd is he's actually quite a sexless creature and it appears a lot of his personal magnetism is that there is no edge to him, only what he makes.
