So a few weeks ago I called out someone here on Resetera who had been posting banned sources, as it had been discovered that he was also a member of Iconera and was, let's say, a lot more honest about his opinions over there (all the classic gamergate rhetoric etc.).

This situation subsequently turned into a thread on Iconera where there seemed to be amusement at the whole situation and how this user was pretending it wasn't him, and was really committing to the bit (he later accidentally gave away that it was him):


However, in that thread there was a user that goes by the name of Cool Hand Luke who seemed very worked up about this, and posted in the thread that he was me:



This user then also changed his profile picture to match mine. In the last few weeks I have changed it 3 times and he has copied it every single time, and with the most recent one he also made a profile post:

What do I even do about this? It's quite frankly extremely creepy that someone who wasn't even involved in the situation has become so obsessed with me and is stalking my profile in this way. Looking at his post activity on there, he seems quite deranged which makes it a bit more unsettling.

Sorry if this is not appropriate to post here I just could use some advice, thanks.

I haven't really seen any complaints or campaigning against Silent Hill 2 from the usual chud sources. It's got overwhelmingly positive user reviews on Steam. It only takes a single person to edit a Wikipedia page. This was probably just done by some crank, or small group of cranks, and much ado about nothing.

I only got into weed on a regular in my late 20's, heck I dabbled in LSD before even getting into weed so the "it's a gateway drug" bullshit is nothing I ever perscribed to.

I smoke a few joints once a week, that's it unless I've got a super quiet weekend or I've booked time off work so can afford the days off feeling monged out.

As other's have said, moderation is the key and doing too much of anything is really bad for you. I was always perplexed to those who do it everday. Had a friend/ work wife who would smoke it everyday and I could never wrap my head round that kind of daily use.

Yeah he did have mental health issues. It wasn't a slight against him as it can be treated as a means to escape what was eating him up. From my perspective I just couldn't envision myself relying on it in my way but that's just me.

Last I checked with him, he is using it less and less which is good.

im currently in a relapse period and I am so angry that I can't shake off cannabis. It has destroyed my brain's sleep and hunger centers and my addiction psychiatrist said it can take up to 6-12 months to clear the THC effects off the brain from daily use. Trying to go sober, I don't sleep or eat more than 400 kcal/day for multiple weeks in a row. My sleep and hunger mechanisms in my brain are completely deteriorated. This last attempt at going sober, the withdrawal was so bad I gave in again. Last time I broke sobriety, I cried from the happiness the high provided me: hunger, savor, and the first hours of sleep in a week.

I live in Manchester and do see a lot of the Spice epidemic running through the homeless, it's fucking tragic to see. If I came across as ignorant, I apologise.

Honestly bemoaning corporate allyship is easy but it's very much a barometer for how weak allyship is in society at large.

Hate is an incredibly powerful motivator. People will devote their entire lives to the things they hate, and it boosts their own ego to feel like their justly fighting an evil. I've really never seen allyship consume people the way that hate does. To be fair that's not really wrong, nothing should consume someone's life that much because it's truthfully poisoning and takes away from living your life - but it does result in a lot more power to shape society, so as it stands we're normalizing hatred to the point that less-active "live and let live" types succumb to their casual ignorance and absorb the bigoted lies being spewed by the more active hatemongers.

Corporate allyship is a response driven to appeal to society, but as it turns out, supporting hate isn't actually detrimental to their brand at all and by and large the people that actually care enough to make their purchasing decisions off your statements are the nazis.

Although also tbf the heads of any of these major corporations are also gonna be conservatives so that's another slanted factor. They used to hide their contempt to make money but now they don't have to.

But just look at how this is playing out in our society's actual *political* sphere: trans folks are desperately ringing the alarm bells to the fact that Democrats are running away from us, leaving us to the endless barrage of vitriol from conservative attacks, and Democratic *voters* become vitriolic at us for bringing it up and how we should be grateful and shut up. UK Labour have now taken power explicitly opposing trans existence. In the realm of politics itself trans people are treated like we're radioactive, so yeah of course corporations aren't going to have our backs either.

I’ll tell you what’s even funnier, when my relationship ended and I was living alone I actually enjoyed my alone time because I found out I’m comfortable and enjoy my own company, I then started to watch some YouTube vids about general stuff to do with how you carry yourself etc and the key message was a lot of them was being content and happy in your own company because if you can’t even do that then what good would you be in a relationship with another person…speaks volumes about the average Era user there I think!
