When shopping in store you get the items you paid for right away(unless is back ordered) while shopping online you pay upfront and then you’re at the mercy of the shipping company/sender not to fuck it up. Even though you may be protected it would be a pain in the ass and a waste of time, specially with big dollar items.

About a week ago, I bought $3000 worth of rims and tires and as soon as I paid, my anxiety went through the roof checking notifications often. Wondering how fast will the company ship and then hoping for FedEx not to screw it up or damage the rims. It wasn’t a pleasant week specially when Fedex decided not to update the tracking for 5 days.

Anyone feels similar about online shopping as I do?

I agree. I think Foxx did everything right here. He gave context to his words and then when they still caused confusion he went back and clarified and apologized to anyone who may have been hurt in the misunderstanding. I think people are having trouble with it because we expect people to only apologize when they get caught out doing something wrong when you can still give people the wrong idea through no fault of your own and it's nice to acknowledge that. He didn't have to, but I'm glad he did.

This, "I'm gonna take the worst reading of what you said and assume you're a secret bigot," has been standard operating procedure on ERA since its inception. And not just on ERA. This is a regular occurrence on social media in general. They are only mad here because the shoe's on the other foot for a change. When you help foster an environment/culture that assumes bad faith from everyone not in your "in-group" don't be surprised when it eventually comes back to bite you in the ass.

Was on a lunch at my desk yesterday, and overheard the manager speaking with a co-manager about politics. I assumed the manager was a left leaning individual, only to find that he was absolutely against reelecting Biden, and open to "holding his nose and voting for Trump" because he feels things were better under Trump's first term. They brought up "election fraud being rampant" and "how mysterious it was when the initial counts were highly in favor of Trump, but by the next morning it swung completely around" which of course was when the mail-in ballots were counted. He also brought up how convenient he believes it has been for all the indictments about Trump to occur right before the next election.


I have a strict policy of not discussing politics in the workplace, so I sat by idly and didn't engage on their conversations. It's always bizarre when you find out the people that you perceive as being fairly intelligent, are actually easily manipulated and quite delusional when it comes to politics. The manager is actually in his early 30s, and from one of the more liberal areas in my state, so it was surprising to see him spouting all the key right wing talking points.
